
RN Sharon Lewis
Sharon is an experienced registered nurse who brings a wealth of knowledge, warmth and practical experience to Lord Howe Island General Practice, with a career spanning general practice, emergency nursing, critical care, nursing education and health service leadership.
Before joining Lord Howe Island General Practice, Sharon held senior nursing and leadership roles in Canberra, including many years working in emergency and critical care settings. She also had a decade of experience as a Practice Nurse and Practice Manager in a rural GP clinic, giving her a broad understanding of patient care across all stages of life.
Sharon has also been closely involved in teaching and mentoring nurses, and continues to value education as an important part of good healthcare.
She holds a Master of Nursing and a Bachelor of Applied Science, along with qualifications in intensive care/coronary care nursing, advanced practice nursing, training and assessment, and leadership. She is also currently undertaking a Master of Nurse Practitioner through the University of Newcastle.
